Weelborg Ford Celebrates 100 Years

We're excited to announce that 2024 marked the 100th anniversary of our dealership. Since 1924, we've been providing quality cars and honest, reliable service to the residents and surrounding communities of Redwood Falls.
To celebrate this occasion, we invited our loyal customers, friends, and neighbors, and celebrated with a Car & Tractor Roll-In on Thursday, July 18th, from 4 pm to 7 pm. It was free to the public. There was a $20 entry fee to all who registered a car/tractor. All proceeds were donated to Cruising For Kids. All entries received a 100th Anniversary Weelborg Ford Commemorative T-shirt. Food was provided.
Redwood Falls Motor Company Original Location on 2nd Street
Cruising for Kids is a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to providing supportive services to youth and their families with chronic illnesses in Redwood County, Minnesota. Cruising for Kids is a subsidiary of the Redwood Area Communities Foundation.
This program is designed to provide financial support to youth ages 0-18 with a diagnosed chronic childhood illness to help ease the financial burden for them and their families. Families will submit an application for assistance. Funds awarded will be paid directly to their vendor of choice.
Looking Back at Our History
Our story began in 1924 with founder Fred Carity. He opened the flagship location of Redwood Falls Motor Company on 2nd Street in downtown Redwood Falls. This is where our journey, and our memories, began.
From there Fred Carity sold Redwood Falls Motor Company to Frank Stevenson, date unknown. On January 1st, 1980, Frank sold to Ron Kohls. In 1982, Ron sold half the dealership to Dick "Sam" Fowler. In 1995, Fowler sold his half of the dealership to Terry Marguth, making it "Kohls-Marguth Ford". In 1995 Brett Weelborg bought out Terry Marguth, making it Kohls-Weelborg Ford. Brett Weelborg then bought Ron Kohls out in 2006 and we became independently known as Weelborg Ford. Ours is a rich history that dates back to the Model T, a history that we are proud of.

As the dealership grew, a new location located east of town was built in 1967
By 1968, the build was complete, and the Redwood Falls Motor Company was officially moved in. Subsequent to Redwood Falls Motor Company our building has undergone a more modern remodel and is the Weelborg Ford we love to this day.

100 Years and Counting
Today, Weelborg Ford is proud to carry on the legacy of Redwood Falls Motor Company. Under the leadership of our owner, Brett Weelborg, we continue to uphold the tradition of selling quality vehicles while providing the world-class service our customers have known us for over the past 100 years.
