The world is altering. And with climate change being a driving force on many agendas, corporations, enterprises, and entrepreneurs are taking note. Few establishments take this concept more seriously than Ford Motor Company. And Ford’s aim to protect the environment is evident in their new Ford trucks.

The company’s efforts in green vehicle production are apparent in its Ford electric trucks. For example, last year’s unveiling of the electric F-150 Lightning was another addition to a growing succession of electric vehicles. But with EVs slowly becoming the new normal, there are a few things you should know.

Electric Trucks are the Future

The automotive industry is set to commit billions of dollars by 2030 for zero-emitting solutions. And one of the stand-out vehicles is the electric F-150 Lightning. Jim Farley, Ford CEO, has compared the F-150 to the Model T. His claim has reasonable grounds; the F-150 has remained the best-selling automobile in America for 4 decades.

There’s a lot to be excited about with Ford electric trucks:

  • Enhanced capabilities: The electric F-150 will be capable of charging a home in a power outage, making it Ford’s most robust model in the series to date.
  • More affordable: EDF assessment reveals that those who buy a new battery electric automobile in 2027 will pocket $5,300 over its lifespan relative to gasoline vehicles.
  • Zero-emissions: These automobiles will eradicate tailpipe pollution that damages the environment and impairs public health.

The F-150 Lightning: What You Need to Know

The F-150 Lightning is among the pioneering electric vehicles. It symbolizes a step toward environmental protection and restoration. A Ford electric truck, the F-150 Lightning boasts 230 miles of EPA-estimated range, 10 hours per charge (which you can do at home with Ford Charge Station Pro), and a 7700lb towing capacity.

This model is an unprecedented and highly essential stepping stone toward zero emissions. And it is aligned with Ford’s aim of a zero-emission future. The Ford F-150 arrives at a critical juncture when we desperately need enterprising efforts to safeguard our environment and public health.

The Future by 2035

By 2035, Ford aims to have all new passenger cars and trucks be zero-emitting automobiles.  Eliminating pollution from every new vehicle would bring massive advantages:

  1. By 2050, it will diminish more than 15 billion tons of carbon pollution. That’s more than double the quantity of pollution America ejects yearly.
  2. It would avert over 150,000 premature deaths by decreasing dangerous air contaminants that supply pollution.
  3. It will deliver over $2 trillion to Americans, including pollution deductions and monetary savings.

A bright future is ahead of us. However, we all have to do our part to realize that future. And the advent of the F-150 Lightning is Ford’s contribution to ensuring a better tomorrow for everyone.
