Review

The 2022 Ford GT offers awe-inspiring bodywork that pays homage to the emblematic GT40 race car. And with 660 horsepower and a roaring engine that can make a gang of banshees blush, the GT is a powerful and dominating force. At full throttle, the Ford GT’s unwavering acceleration, responsive handling, and vigorous and robust braking system all work in unison to create a luxurious high-class driving experience.

Moreover, its race-oriented suspension has adjustable capabilities to facilitate comfort on normal roads. This exoctic beauty will amaze and delight anyone fortunate enough to ride in it or drive it themselves.

What's Expected for 2022?

The 2022 Ford GT is noteworthy due to the fact that it is representative of the final model year regarding this limited-manufactured road-friendly race car. As a farewell to the spectacular machine – originally released in 2017 – and to appreciate the five initial GT precursors, Ford has launched the 2022 GT.

With an ensemble used to imitate the original GT/101 framework, this unique version sports a Wimbledon White pigment in addition to a myriad of Antimatter Azure exterior attributes.

The interior; offering carbon-fiber seats and segments of the dashboard which remain covered in Blue microsuede match the same material found on the steering wheel as well as the headliner.

Pricing and Which One to Buy

The price of the 2022 Ford GT is estimated to be $500,000. A price range far outside of most people’s budget, but it’s always fun to daydream and imagine. Opt for the stoney white exterior coupled with the illuminating blue stripes running over the car’s top that give it distinction and character. Or choose the lustrous carbon-fiber finish combined with the 20-inch wheels for an additive measure of raciness.

Engine, Performance, and Transmission

Dissimilar from the supercharged V-8 in the prior GT generation, the new car is armed with a combined-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 engine. Exerting 660 horsepower as well as 550 pf of torque, the V-6 is coupled to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The previous edition had a reduction in horses, it still garnered supercar-notable acceleration time frames. Moreover, driving the GT is very easy, as the large car is light and nimble.

Real-World MPG and Fuel Economy

Conserving fossil fuels isn’t exactly a big priority for supercars. The Ford GT, however, is probably one of the most efficient instances. The EPA calculates it will earn 12 mpg city in addition to 18 highway. This is in stark opposition to gas consuming juggarnauts such as the Bugatti  (9/15 mpg city/highway) in addition to the Lamborghini (9/14 mpg city/highway).

Interior, Cargo, and Comfort

The interior is very modest and driver-oriented, with pretty much all controls governed by the steering wheel which is heavily race-car-inspired. Once inside, you'll realize the driver's seat is not adjustable. But rather, engineered Ford pedals in addition to the steering wheel allow you to modify the driver's position, so that everything is insync with the fixed seat.

The gauge cluster appears to be taken out of the racecar variation of the Ford GT, and another digital display is inserted into the suede-covered dashboard and regulates the infotainment operations.

Infotainment and Connectedness

With driving being the main priority, the GT doesn't provide the plethora of infotainment and connectivity attributes that the majority of contemporary vehicles offer. However, it still provides a 6.5-inch touchscreen supporting Ford's Sync 3 program.

Additionally, it’s also receptive to voice commands and offers an integrated navigation system for individuals who desire more lengthy excursions in this half a million dollar machine.

Maintenance and Warranty Coverage

Despite its upscale allure and elevated price point, the GT offers a similar warranty. But Ford doesn't restrict the mileage placed on its limited and powertrain coverage within the duration of their three-year cycles.

  • Three years and unlimited miles are covered by their Limited warranty
  • Powertrain warranty covers three years and unlimited miles
  • No complimentary scheduled maintenance
