Towing & Payload Capacities
The main difference between the 2019 Ford F-250 and F-350 is towing and payload capacity.

If you're planning to tow a recreational vehicle (RV), boat, or horse trailer, towing capacities increase on the F-250 and F-350 when equipped with a fifth wheel or gooseneck hitch. An F-250 equipped with a 6.2L V8 engine and hitch can tow up to 15,800 lbs., while an F-250 equipped with a 6.7L V8 engine and hitch can tow up to 18,500 lbs. These capacities increase with the F-350. Tow up to 27,500 lbs. when the F-350 is equipped with a 6.2L V8 engine and hitch and up to 35,000 lbs. with the 6.7L V8 engine and hitch.
Towing Technology
Beginning on the XL trim up through the Limited model, you can equip your 2019 F-250 or F-350 with up to seven cameras for a 360-degree view of your truck. The Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System features a customer-placed trailer camera from the factory along with trailer reverse guidance. Other towing tech includes a class-exclusive individual trailer tire pressure monitoring system and class-exclusive BLIS® system with trailer coverage.
5th-Wheel/Gooseneck Hitch Prep Package
Engineered to meet the toughest of these demands, under-box hardware is available to assist you with exhaust system clearances, rear axle/suspension, and pickup understructure. The Fifth Wheel/Gooseneck Hitch Prep Package is available on 2019 F-series 4x4 and 4x2 trucks and includes select fifth wheel or gooseneck hitch kits that can be installed on your F-250 or F-350 at the factory. The package also contains a flat cargo box for use when the kit is not in service. Kits include:
- 5th-wheel hitch kit, rated at 27,500 lbs.
- 5th-wheel hitch kit, rated at 18,000 lbs.
- Gooseneck dual hitch kit, rated at 27,500 lbs.
For electrical hookup convenience and ease, a seven-pin trailer electrical harness connector is included in the prep kit. This prep package received Built Ford Tough® quality and reliability testing to ensure durability and toughness.
